Additives for building materials

Admixtures are added to concrete or mortar to change the properties of the fresh or solid material - such as workability, setting, hardening or frost resistance - by chemical or physical action or both. A prerequisite for the successful use of admixtures is the observance of recognized principles on mix composition and on the processing and aftertreatment of the building material.
